BOSTON -- New York Yankees right-hander Ivan Nova has decided to have season-ending Tommy John surgery for a partially torn elbow ligament. The operation is scheduled for next Tuesday by Dr. James Andrews. "I think its the right decision," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said before Thursday nights game against the Boston Red Sox. "I havent really seen anyone rehab a partially torn ligament and have success. Now in his fifth major league season, all with the Yankees, he is 40-22 with a 4.20 ERA.
